There is certainly some controversy relating to orcs inside the Dragonlance. The 1st edition advert&D Dragonlance Adventures hardbound rulebook states that orcs tend not to exist on Krynn, with ogres and minotaurs mainly replacing their regular part. Second and 3rd edition Dragonlance supplements also get rid of orcs from the whole world of Krynn.
